X-Plore Youth Group is an established charity (registered Charity number: 1104199) based in Devon. We run groups to support young people who are (or think they may be) Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans or Questionning their sexual orientation/gender identity.
Our Trustees are:

We work closely with the Intercom Trust (LGBT services) and Space (Devon youth service).
To provide a safe and empowering developmental space for young lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people (including those who are unsure of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity) where they can meet others of a similar age.
To empower young LGBTQ people to develop healthy self-image and to explore and express their feelings and identities with others of a similar age.
To enable young LGBTQ people to enjoy positive social and personal development opportunities.
To support young LGBTQ people towards becoming confident, pro-social members of society who are able to challenge prejudice and discrimination in all areas of their lives.
Exeter LGB Youth Group was established in 2002 with funding and support from Comic Relief, Devon Youth Service, Exeter City Council, and Crimebeat. A management group was formed with representatives from service users, Devon Youth Service, Devon and Cornwall Constabulary and other involved parties. Part-time Lead and Assistant Youth Workers were appointed and the process of developing policies and procedures was begun.
During 2003 the name ‘X-Plore’ was chosen by service users, our logo and publicity materials were developed. The group began to meet regularly and has met on a weekly basis since.
In 2004 X-Plore became a registered charity to safeguard its independence, ensure accountability to service users and help promote a positive public image. X-Plore received further funding from Devon County Council, Exeter Community Safety Partnership and South West Foundation.
In 2014 we went through a refresh. We recruited new trustees and started a North Devon group, initially in Bideford. We now contract Space (formerly Devon Youth Service) to provide prefessional youth workers to run the groups and to strengthen our links with other local 'mainstream' youth activities and opportunities.
